Content Creation Velocity

Thesis

Media and entertainment is the sector most directly reshaped by AGI. Content that once required studios, agencies, and months of production will be generated in seconds. Advertising targeting will become perfectly personalized. Games will build themselves around each player. The economics of content flip from supply-scarce to supply-infinite—massively benefiting platforms, tools, and distribution while threatening legacy production labor. Companies that own distribution, data, or enabling tools win. Those selling only human creative labor face existential compression.

Key Risk: Regulatory & Rights

Copyright law has not caught up with AI-generated content. Lawsuits from authors, artists, and publishers against AI training datasets are ongoing. The EU AI Act imposes transparency requirements. However, the direction is clear: AI-generated content will be legally permissible with some guardrails. Companies with proprietary training data or licensed content libraries have structural advantages over those relying on scraped data. The risk is delay, not prohibition.

AGI Acceleration Timeline

Recursive self-improvement means creative AI will go from "impressive demos" to "better than most human output" within 2 years. Video generation is already approaching film quality. Music AI is indistinguishable from human composition. Text AI already writes better marketing copy than most agencies. The marginal cost of content creation is approaching zero. Winners are companies that can harness this flood—platforms, measurement tools, and distribution networks—not companies that compete against it.

1 Digital Advertising Platforms

High Conviction

How It Works

Companies that sell advertising inventory across search, social, display, and video. They use machine learning to match ads to users, optimize bids in real time, and measure conversions. Revenue is driven by advertiser spend, which correlates with GDP and e-commerce growth. These are the toll booths of the internet economy.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Extreme. AGI supercharges ad platforms on both sides: (1) AI-generated creative reduces advertiser friction to near zero—any SMB can produce studio-quality ads instantly, expanding the advertiser base; (2) AGI-powered targeting/bidding dramatically improves ROAS, making every ad dollar more effective, which pulls more budget into digital. Meta's Advantage+ and Google's Performance Max already show this working. The ad market grows because AI makes ads work better.
Supply Constrained?
Yes, at the top. Only a handful of companies have the user attention data and scale to run effective AI ad platforms. Google and Meta control ~50% of global digital ad spend. Network effects and first-party data moats are nearly impenetrable. New entrants (TikTok/ByteDance, Amazon) gain share only through massive user bases they already own.

Key US-Listed Companies

2 Ad Tech (Programmatic, DSPs, SSPs, Measurement)

High Conviction

How It Works

The infrastructure layer of digital advertising: demand-side platforms (DSPs) that buy ad impressions programmatically, supply-side platforms (SSPs) that sell publisher inventory, and measurement/attribution companies that prove ads worked. These companies process billions of ad auctions per second. AGI makes their optimization algorithms dramatically more effective and their measurement more precise.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Strong. As AI-generated content floods the internet, advertisers need more sophisticated targeting and fraud detection. Connected TV (CTV) is the fastest-growing ad format and is entirely programmatic. Retail media networks are bringing more ad budgets into programmatic pipes. AI-powered creative optimization increases the volume of ads that need serving and measurement.
Supply Constrained?
Moderately. The Trade Desk dominates independent DSP. But competition exists from Google's DV360 and Amazon DSP (walled gardens). Supply constraints are more about data access and identity resolution post-cookie deprecation. Companies with first-party data partnerships and UID2 adoption have advantages.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure

3 Social Media Platforms

High Conviction

How It Works

Platforms where users create, share, and consume content in social feeds. Monetized primarily through advertising. AI already powers content recommendation (the algorithmic feed), content moderation, and ad targeting. AGI takes this further: AI-generated content fills feeds, AI companions engage users, and personalization becomes near-perfect.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Strong. Social media captures the most user attention globally. AI recommendation engines (TikTok-style) keep users engaged longer. AI-powered content creation tools lower barriers for creators, flooding platforms with content. AI chatbots and companions create new engagement surfaces. More engagement = more ad inventory = more revenue.
Supply Constrained?
Yes. Network effects make social platforms natural monopolies in their niches. Building a new social network is nearly impossible. The constraint is user attention, not content—and AI recommendation algorithms are the key to winning that attention battle. Snap, Pinterest, and Reddit each own distinct user intent that creates defensibility.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
SNAP Snap Inc. My AI chatbot (powered by models) integrated into Snapchat with 300M+ users. AR lenses use AI for real-time face/body tracking. AI-powered ad optimization. Camera-first platform becomes AI-creative-first platform. Younger demographic is early AI adopter. Medium

4 Streaming & Connected TV (CTV)

Medium Conviction

How It Works

Companies distributing video content via internet streaming, including subscription (SVOD), ad-supported (AVOD), and free ad-supported TV (FAST). CTV platforms aggregate streaming apps and sell advertising across them. AI currently powers recommendation engines and is beginning to personalize content itself—custom thumbnails, trailers, and eventually AI-generated shows.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Moderate but structurally positive. Ad-supported streaming is the fastest-growing ad format. AI reduces content production costs dramatically—dubbing, localization, VFX, and eventually full episode generation. AI recommendation keeps subscribers engaged, reducing churn. Personalized advertising on CTV is still early innings. The shift from linear TV to CTV is inexorable.
Supply Constrained?
No—content supply is about to explode. The constraint is user attention and quality curation. Platforms with strong recommendation algorithms (Netflix) will navigate the content flood best. CTV operating systems (Roku) have structural advantages as the "remote control" layer. But streaming is competitive and margins are thin for most players.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
NFLX Netflix World's largest streaming service (300M+ subscribers). Best-in-class recommendation AI. AI-generated thumbnails personalized per user. Using AI for dubbing, VFX, and post-production cost reduction. Ad tier growing rapidly. AI reduces content costs while improving personalization. Medium

5 Gaming Companies (Publishers & Developers)

High Conviction

How It Works

Companies that develop and publish video games across PC, console, and mobile. Revenue comes from game sales, in-game purchases (microtransactions), subscriptions, and advertising. Games are the most computationally intensive entertainment medium and the closest to AI-native content—NPCs already use AI, worlds are procedurally generated, and matchmaking uses ML algorithms.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Very strong. AGI transforms gaming from multiple angles: AI NPCs with real conversations, procedurally generated infinite worlds, AI-personalized difficulty and storylines, AI game testers reducing development costs, and AI-assisted game development cutting production time from years to months. The $200B gaming market grows as AI makes games more immersive and cheaper to build.
Supply Constrained?
Historically yes (game development is expensive and slow), but AGI directly relaxes this constraint. The companies that benefit most are those with strong IP, distribution, and live-service platforms where AI enhances existing franchises rather than replacing them. Pure creative studios face disruption from AI-generated games.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
RBLX Roblox User-generated game platform (80M+ DAUs). AI tools let creators build games with natural language prompts. AI-powered moderation and safety. AI assistant for game creation. The "YouTube of games"—AGI means anyone can create immersive experiences on Roblox instantly. Pure-play

6 Game Engines & Interactive Development Tools

High Conviction

How It Works

Platforms that provide the foundational software for building games, simulations, and interactive 3D experiences. Game engines handle rendering, physics, audio, networking, and increasingly AI-powered content generation. They are also expanding into film/TV virtual production, automotive visualization, architecture, and digital twins. These are the "operating systems" of real-time 3D.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Extreme. AGI + game engines = anyone can create AAA-quality interactive experiences. Text-to-3D, AI-assisted level design, procedural asset generation, and AI-powered testing all run through game engines. As AI democratizes creation, the engine becomes more important, not less. Non-gaming use cases (automotive, architecture, film) are growing fast.
Supply Constrained?
Duopoly. Unity and Unreal Engine (Epic, private) control the market. Building a competitive game engine takes a decade and billions of dollars. Unity's pricing controversy created an opening but the moat remains deep. This is a true platform monopoly position.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
U Unity Technologies Leading game engine for mobile and indie games. Unity Muse AI assistant generates 3D assets and code. Unity Sentis runs ML models in-engine. Expanding into AI-powered creation tools. Turnaround story under new leadership. AI makes Unity more valuable as the creation platform. Pure-play

Note: Epic Games (Unreal Engine, Fortnite) is the other major player but remains private. Unity is the only publicly traded major game engine.

7 Content Creation & Design Tools

High Conviction

How It Works

Software platforms for creating visual, video, and written content—graphic design, video editing, photo editing, document creation, and web design. These tools are being fundamentally transformed by AI: text-to-image, AI video editing, one-click design generation, and AI-powered creative assistants that replace hours of manual work with seconds of generation.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Extreme. AI makes professional-quality content creation accessible to everyone. The addressable market expands from millions of professional designers to billions of knowledge workers. Every business needs content; AI makes it instant. Adobe's Firefly, Canva (private), and emerging AI-native tools are riding this wave. Volume of content created will increase by orders of magnitude.
Supply Constrained?
Partially. Adobe has dominant market share in professional tools. But AI-native startups (Midjourney, Runway—both private) are competing from the bottom up. The constraint is training data and model quality. Adobe's advantage is its proprietary stock library (Adobe Stock) for training and its existing creative workflow integration.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
ADBE Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator) is the professional standard. Firefly generative AI integrated across all products. AI-generated images, video, and design. Document Cloud with AI-powered workflows. Trained on licensed Adobe Stock data—no copyright liability. $20B+ revenue growing with AI adoption. High

Note: Key private competitors include Canva, Figma, Midjourney, and Runway ML. Adobe is the dominant publicly traded pure-play in AI-powered content creation.

8 Stock Media, Synthetic Media & Visual AI

Medium Conviction

How It Works

Companies licensing stock photography, video, illustrations, and music to businesses and creators. Also includes emerging synthetic media companies that generate images, video, and avatars using AI. The traditional stock media model is being disrupted by AI generation, but these companies have massive licensed content libraries that serve as training data moats and legal safe harbors.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Mixed. Demand for visual content is exploding (more ads, more web pages, more social content), but AI generation threatens the core stock licensing model. Smart stock companies are pivoting to AI-generation tools trained on their own libraries. Getty and Shutterstock have launched AI generators. The question is whether they capture the AI upside or get disintermediated by it.
Supply Constrained?
No—AI is making supply infinite. The constraint flips to curation, legal safety (copyright-clean generation), and enterprise trust. Stock companies with properly licensed training data have a legal advantage over AI generators trained on scraped data. Enterprise buyers care about indemnification.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
GETY Getty Images Premium stock imagery and video library. Launched AI-generated images trained exclusively on owned/licensed content. Enterprise customers get copyright indemnification. Partnership with NVIDIA for custom AI model training. The "legally safe AI image" play. Medium
SSTK Shutterstock Massive stock library (800M+ assets). AI image generator integrated into platform. Contributor Fund compensates artists whose work trained the AI. Data licensing deals with AI companies (OpenAI, Meta). Pivoting from stock marketplace to AI content platform. Medium

9 Music, Audio & Podcasting AI

Medium Conviction

How It Works

Companies involved in music streaming, music rights/publishing, audio production tools, and podcast platforms. AI is transforming music creation (AI-composed tracks), distribution (AI-powered recommendation), production (AI mastering and mixing), and consumption (AI-personalized playlists). Music rights holders benefit as AI increases the surfaces where music is consumed.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Moderate. Music streaming is mature but still growing globally. AI-generated background music for video, games, and social media creates new consumption. AI enables instant music creation for content creators. Podcast AI (auto-transcription, AI-generated summaries, AI hosts) is early. The total hours of audio consumed will increase with AI-generated content, benefiting platforms and rights holders.
Supply Constrained?
Partially. Music rights are controlled by three major labels (Universal, Sony, Warner). They have pricing power and collect royalties on every AI-generated track that uses their catalog. Streaming platforms (Spotify) have scale advantages. But AI-generated music threatens to flood platforms with low-quality content, challenging curation.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
SPOT Spotify Technology Largest music/podcast streaming platform. AI DJ feature, personalized playlists, AI-generated podcast summaries. AI ad tools for podcast monetization. AI helps discovery and engagement. Also listed under Streaming. Medium
WMG Warner Music Group Third-largest music label. Catalog of iconic artists. Every AI-generated video, game, or social media post that uses licensed music generates royalties. Investing in AI music tools while protecting copyright. Music rights are an inflation-protected annuity stream that AI consumption multiplies. Medium
SONY Sony Group (ADR) Second-largest music label (Sony Music) plus PlayStation gaming and Sony Pictures. Music catalog includes Beyonce, Adele, and massive publishing catalog. AI-generated content across video, games, and social media multiplies royalty streams. Also benefits through PlayStation (AI gaming) and Columbia Pictures (AI production tools). Triple exposure to AGI across music, gaming, and film. Medium

10 Publishing & Written Content

Low Conviction

How It Works

Companies that create, aggregate, and distribute written content: book publishers, news organizations, and digital media companies. Revenue comes from subscriptions, advertising, licensing, and book sales. AI threatens to commoditize written content generation while simultaneously creating licensing revenue as AI companies pay for training data.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Mixed. AI can generate articles, reports, and even books at near-zero cost, which commoditizes low-end written content. However, premium content (NYT journalism, authoritative analysis) becomes more valuable as trust matters more in an AI-flooded information landscape. Data licensing deals (NYT, Reddit, AP) create direct AI revenue. But the overall business model is under pressure.
Supply Constrained?
No. Written content is the easiest media for AI to generate. The supply constraint is obliterated. What remains valuable is brand, trust, and original reporting—which are inherently human and scarce. Publishers with strong brands may survive; commodity content producers will not.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
NYT The New York Times Premium journalism brand with 11M+ digital subscribers. Sued OpenAI over copyright. Strong brand trust in an AI-misinformation era. Data licensing potential. But AI-generated news summaries bypass traffic to NYT.com, threatening ad revenue. Mixed AI exposure. Low
NWSA News Corp Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones, HarperCollins, Realtor.com. Signed AI licensing deals with multiple AI companies. Professional data (Dow Jones) is premium training data. But news and book publishing face AI content competition. Diversified media conglomerate. Low

11 VR / AR / MR (Spatial Computing)

Medium Conviction

How It Works

Companies building virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) hardware and software. These create immersive 3D experiences worn on the face or projected into physical space. AGI transforms spatial computing by enabling AI-generated 3D environments, real-time spatial understanding, AI avatars that look and behave naturally, and instant localization/mapping of physical spaces.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Moderate but growing. Apple Vision Pro validated the category. Meta Quest headsets have sold 20M+ units. AGI solves the content problem—3D world creation is currently too expensive, but AI generation makes it trivial. Enterprise AR (training, maintenance, remote assist) is a growing market. AI-powered spatial computing could be the next major computing platform after mobile.
Supply Constrained?
Yes. VR/AR hardware requires advanced optics, displays, sensors, and compute in a lightweight form factor. Only a few companies have the engineering capability. Content creation for 3D is expensive (but AI is fixing this). Consumer adoption remains slow—the technology is not quite "good enough" for mass market yet.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
META Meta Platforms (Reality Labs) Quest headsets, Horizon Worlds, Reality Labs R&D ($20B+/year). Orion AR glasses prototype. Meta AI integrated into VR experiences. AGI-powered 3D world generation would solve the content gap that limits VR adoption. Also listed under Digital Ad Platforms. High
AAPL Apple Vision Pro spatial computing headset. Apple Intelligence AI features integrating into visionOS. Best-in-class hardware design. ARKit is the leading AR development platform for mobile. Massive ecosystem advantages. But VR/AR is a small part of Apple's overall business. Low
QCOM Qualcomm Snapdragon XR chips power most VR/AR headsets (Meta Quest, others). AI Engine for on-device inference in headsets. The "Intel Inside" of spatial computing. As headset volumes grow, Qualcomm captures silicon revenue on every unit. Medium

12 Sports Betting, iGaming & AI Pricing

Medium Conviction

How It Works

Online platforms for sports wagering, casino games, daily fantasy, and other forms of real-money gaming. Revenue comes from the "hold" (house edge) on bets and from advertising/promotions to acquire users. AI is central to this business: real-time odds calculation, risk management, personalized promotions, user engagement optimization, and fraud detection. AGI dramatically improves pricing accuracy and player lifetime value prediction.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Strong. US sports betting is still in early innings of state-by-state legalization. AI improves the core product: more accurate live odds, AI-generated parlays personalized per user, AI-powered responsible gambling tools (regulatory requirement), and AI chatbots for customer service. AGI-driven trading desks will set odds in real-time with superhuman accuracy, reducing the house's risk and improving margins.
Supply Constrained?
Partially. Licensing requirements, state-by-state regulation, and brand trust create barriers. A few platforms (FanDuel/Flutter, DraftKings, BetMGM) dominate the US market. AI capability is becoming a key differentiator—companies with better AI pricing engines will have structurally better margins.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
DKNG DraftKings Second-largest US online sportsbook. Proprietary tech stack with AI-powered odds, personalization, and risk management. AI parlay suggestions, real-time pricing, and AI-driven responsible gambling tools. In-house technology gives more AI integration surface than competitors using third-party platforms. Medium
FLUT Flutter Entertainment Largest online gambling company globally (FanDuel, Paddy Power, PokerStars, Betfair). FanDuel is the #1 US sportsbook. AI-powered pricing engine across all brands. Betfair Exchange is uniquely positioned for AI-driven market-making. Scale advantage in data and AI training. Medium

13 Traditional Media & Entertainment Conglomerates

Low Conviction

How It Works

Legacy media conglomerates operating across film studios, broadcast/cable TV networks, theme parks, and streaming. These companies own enormous content libraries (decades of film and TV) and distribution infrastructure. AI reduces their production costs (VFX, dubbing, editing) but also threatens their core business as AI-generated content competes with studio output at a fraction of the cost.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Weak as an AGI play. Traditional media is in secular decline (cord-cutting, audience fragmentation). AI helps with cost reduction but doesn't fundamentally change the demand picture. Their content libraries have value as AI training data (licensing deals) and for nostalgic IP. Theme parks and live experiences are AI-immune but are not media businesses. These companies are more "AI survivors" than "AI beneficiaries."
Supply Constrained?
No. AI massively de-constrains content supply, which is bad for companies whose business model is "we produce content that is hard to make." The moat is beloved IP (Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter) and distribution scale. But even IP can be competed against when AGI can generate compelling new narratives instantly.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
DIS The Walt Disney Company Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Disney+, theme parks, ESPN. AI for VFX cost reduction and content localization. Strongest IP portfolio in entertainment. But linear TV decline offsets streaming growth. Parks are AI-immune. Mixed overall. Low
WBD Warner Bros. Discovery HBO, Warner Bros. studio, DC Comics, CNN, Discovery. Massive content library for AI training data licensing. HBO brand is premium. But debt-laden, linear TV declining, and Max streaming struggling. AI is a cost tool, not a growth driver here. Low
PARA Paramount Global CBS, Paramount Pictures, Paramount+, MTV, Nickelodeon. Acquired by Skydance Media. Massive content library. AI for content production cost reduction. But structurally challenged business model. More restructuring story than AI story. Low
CMCSA Comcast / NBCUniversal NBC, Universal Pictures, Peacock streaming, Universal theme parks, Comcast cable/broadband. AI for ad optimization and content production. Theme parks benefit from AI-powered experiences. Broadband is the pipe for AI content consumption. Diversified conglomerate, diluted AI exposure. Low

14 Live Events, Sports & Experiential Entertainment

Low Conviction

How It Works

Companies operating live events venues, ticketing platforms, sports broadcasting, and experiential entertainment. This includes concerts, sports leagues, theme parks, and live experiences. These are inherently physical and human—the opposite of AI-generated content. AI enhances operations (dynamic pricing, personalized experiences, AI-generated commentary) but the core product is irreplaceable by AI.

Supply / Demand

Demand Driver
Weak as an AI play. Live experiences actually benefit from being AI-immune—as digital content becomes commoditized by AI, authentic live experiences become more valuable. AI helps with ticketing optimization, crowd management, and personalized experiences. Sports broadcasting benefits from AI-generated stats and highlights. But these are operational improvements, not transformational.
Supply Constrained?
Yes, structurally. There is only one Taylor Swift. Venue capacity is fixed. Live events are inherently scarce, which is why pricing power is strong. AI cannot replicate the live experience. This makes live events a good business but not an AI beneficiary in the investment sense.

Key US-Listed Companies

TickerCompanyAGI AngleExposure
LYV Live Nation Entertainment Monopoly on live events (Ticketmaster + concert promotion + venues). AI for dynamic ticket pricing, personalized marketing, fraud detection. Live experiences become relatively more valuable as digital content is commoditized by AI. But the AI benefit is marginal. Low
MSGE Madison Square Garden Entertainment Iconic venues (MSG, Radio City). Sphere in Las Vegas is the most advanced immersive entertainment venue, using AI for visual effects and audience personalization. Sphere is the closest thing to an "AI-enhanced live experience" play. Low
